wanderlust
As I caught that trendy bug the kids are calling, wanderlust, I decided to no longer be wasteful and boycott souvenirs on my trips. Since traveling is a big source of design inspiration for me in general, I have decided to turn this into a project in itself. These designs summarize what I took out of the experience by combining pictures, textures, colors, and lines, translating a glimpse of my time while also giving myself a memento.
I have used the metro train maps as a source of framing these collages to incorporate how the city is laid out and space to incorporate images.
I traced the major lines and use the colors that are either those of the region or those which I found inspirational for how I perceived the city (attitude of the people, colors on the streets, food, etc.).
New York City, NY
New York scares me. Both good and bad. I tried to both show aggression and passion mixed with the beauty of buildings in which you can't even see where they end.
Barcelona, Spain
This has been by far my absolute favorite city. It is a combination of very old art and architecture from famous old-timey artists and combined with new aged graffiti art taking over the city. Quite eclectic and juxtaposed.
